Where can I design a website like this?

http://www.joehuntmusic.co.uk/

Or

http://donshimoda.co.uk/

They are both very effective, but the hosting sites I%26#039;ve been looking at, you have to have pictures of tree%26#039;s or buildings, I want something similar to these sites!

I have a Domain address (www.emmacherry.co.uk) just no hosting web site- if thats what I need!

You need graphics editing software, you need to learn how to use that, then you need to learn how to turn your images and design into code so it will show as a webpage.

The first page is done simply in a program like Photoshop. You desaturate (turn it into black and white) then add the colours.

The second site is just a photo that has the torn edges added. Its actually going to be a rectangular picture, the torn edges to the edge of the picture are black, the background of the site is also black so it looks like the torn edges are sitting on the black background!

You need to optimise your graphics for the web, they must be at 72 dpi and the exact height and width in pixels. It%26#039;s no good loading a huge print size photo onto a web page, it would tke too long.

There%26#039;s a freeware program you could use to do the images, its called Paint.net. It uses layers like Photoshop and has got all the tools you need.

Another good one is Deep Paint from Right Hemisphere.

You need to learn HTML coding, you can do that in Notepad. The %26#039;Dummies%26#039; series of books have several that teach you how to write web pages.

You have your web domain; all you need is a host. You could try 1%26amp;1.

Have fun and good luck!

Go for it! Report It

Other Replys:If you are wanting a band website specifically I would suggest Bandzoogle.com. If you want just a website there are a few free ones out there. Bluevoda, Ewisoft are just a couple.

Other Replys:Hi Emma,

Sarah C%26#039;s answer is the info you need but just to say that your song is fantastic and good luck with the web site. You deserve a decent break with a good song and voice like yours.

Very best wishes for a successful career.

Other Replys:You could try Streamline.net - they have a site wizard with which you could experiment to get the effect that you want. They offer a three month free trial - so if you felt the design was no good or the site wizard did not do what you wanted - then it would cost nothing to go elsewhere.

123 Reg also seems to have a variety of options with a variety of templates available for you to use.

Also there is Easyspace ... this one definately offers real media streaming but at an additional cost.

If it were me, I%26#039;d have a play on the demo site builders on the sites %26amp; see if any were suitable for what I wanted.

Of course if you are able to design your own website, with software that you already have, then it won%26#039;t really matter so much.

Good luck
