What are Forced Ads?

I was looking for a web host and a lot of people said that Gigacities has no forced ads. What does it mean.

Thank you.

What are Forced Ads?

Forced ads are advertisements that are attached to your webpage without your intervention. For example, Myspace has %26quot;forced ads%26quot; on your profile.. you didn%26#039;t put the ads there, Myspace did... Myspace %26quot;forced%26quot; you to display those ads.

Geocities and Tripod were notoriuous for having obtrusive forced popups on their users%26#039; pages.

If you%26#039;re looking for a free host and Gigacities offers no forced ads, go for it. If you%26#039;re looking to pay for hosting, GoDaddy.com has been popular lately, something like $3.95/mo for your own domain name.

.. and if anyone is forcing ads when you%26#039;re a paying customer, find a new host. There should be *no* ads if you%26#039;re paying for hosting. ;)

What are Forced Ads?

Some sites, in order to make money or simply to pay for the servers, host many ads. They get paid to do so. Forced ads are the minimum number of ads needed to keep a free site running.
