Microsoft couldn%26#039;t afford Google. They are only buying Yahoo in and aggressive take over because Yahoo is struggling and Microsoft can%26#039;t beat Google and never will.
If either company new how to innovate - MS would need to spend $44 Billion on getting Yahoo.
